St. Paul’s economy consists of small retail businesses of goods and services, local medical services, local construction businesses, and agribusinesses supporting surrounding agricultural base of irrigated cropland and birth-to-market animal feeding facilities.
A forward-looking city government, Chamber of Commerce, and Development Corporation work together for business and community development efforts.
It is the intent of the City of St. Paul to implement an economic development program, the purpose and goals of which will be:
- Create or retain jobs and generate improved employment opportunities;
- Expand labor markets of St. Paul and Howard County;
- Attract new capital investments to the community and broaden the tax base and
Provide economic diversification to ensure economic stability and vitality for the community of St. Paul and the surrounding area.
